7/8 inches with watermark J WHATMAN 1838. With beautiful color. The
adult bird represented in the plate was shot by my friend Dr. BACHMAN, a
few miles from Charleston, while I was in his company; and the drawing of
the plant was made by his amiable sister-in-law, Miss MARTIN. DETAIL

of central and western North America, this bird's range in the United
States has shrunk considerably. Two birds in a landscape with a river in the

64 Swamp Sparrow. This lovely plate is little different from all
other plates in the Havell Edition because the
art is credited to someone other than John James Audubon.
Most likely, however, the bird was painted by Audubon. Overall very good

blackberry bramble captures the bird to a tee. Price includes mat and
frame with overall measurements of 42 inches by 29-1/2 inches. Triple
mat with outer measurements in excess of 38 x 26 inches. In Northern
Virginia, the return of catbirds is a welcome harbinger of warmer
