There is nothing in the world like an original print for beauty and historical interest. But for those who want beautiful examples of Audubon’s art at affordable prices, facsimile and reproduction editions are a realistic alternative. The prints featured on this page do not include all of Audubon’s work. With enough lead time, I can get almost any Audubon bird print you might want. Whether you want Giclees or offset prints, limited or open edition, reduced or full size or larger than full size, I am knowledgeable about the options available for high-quality and affordable Audubon bird reproductions. Facsimile prints are full-size on paper approximately 39 x 26 inches and image areas (meaning the art and the writing that surrounds it) typically in one of three sizes. LARGE images are usually around 38 x 25 inches (with the image taking up most of the paper), MEDIUM images are usually 25 x 20 inches (with a moderate margin surrounding the image), and SMALL images are usually around 19 x 12 inches (with a large margin surrounding the image).
Most of the reproductions I sell are facsimiles, although Princeton offers a small selection of beautiful and reduced-size images in their Essex Edition. Princeton DEF and Princeton Essex are shown first, then Rare-Prints Edition giclées are highlighted. These are followed by facsimiles from the New-York Historical Society collection of Audubon’s bird watercolors (the original art that was the basis of Audubon’s bird prints).
